The Anna in the Tropics cast have been hard at work over the last month. The play is set in a cigar factory in Ybor City in 1929. This means the cast is learning how to roll cigars as a part of their rehearsal prep. This is one of the things I love about doing theatre in higher education. You learn so much more than just the logistics of theatrical production, but you learn about other cultures, history, and other ways of life.
I know director Walter Kmiec's has been thrilled with the work of the cast. The show opens next Friday! For info, visit: http://www.daytonastate.edu/thearts/Drama_performances.html

Don't miss it!
